Morgan (Mo) McPherson
Senior Catchment Management Consultant
Morgan (Mo) comes from a background in horticulture and conservation and has a variety of experience that has seen him manage projects and creative develop strategies to ensure the best possible outcome for conservation.
He has been around conservation for most of his life. One of Morgan’s first jobs was as a volunteer in the horticulture department of Adelaide Zoo, where he eventually landed a paid position. He then moved into varied roles, from conservation to horticulture and interpretation to customer engagement, which influenced his decision to complete a Diploma of Conservation and Land Management. He has also had a stint as a volunteer ranger in the Northern Territory, a lifeguard on the Great Barrier Reef and as a tree manager for the koalas feeder at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast.
Mo moved to Tasmania in 2019 to be a part of the ground team for the Derwent Catchment Project, he is now the Operations Manager. He leads Enviro-dynamics dog detection team and is Pippa the Wonder Dog's handler. He has recently undertaken further study in a Master of Integrated Water Management. Morgan has been able to explore how water and its multiple uses can be managed in a holistic way while benefiting both end users and the environment
